Hidden River Valley – The DC Develop team partnered with the City of Charlestown, Dan Cristiani Excavating, and OHM Consultants to develop a unique drainage solution for a neighborhood impacted by longterm flooding during heavy rains. This project was procured through RFPQ advertisement under Indiana Code 5-23, the Build-Operate-Transfer procurement method. DC Develop served as the prime/Developer for this project. The neighborhood was originally designed with various drainage areas conveying stormwater through sinkholes and dammed up by roadways. The team scoped out the project, evaluating numerous utility and elevation conflicts, identifying cost saving alternatives, and ultimately providing a guaranteed maximum price for the community. The project has been proven effective through numerous heavy rain events, far exceeding design storms and standards. Total project cost was approximately $800,000.
